Shadehaunt ruins/spider cave giving 1k-2k exp is HORRID.

Shadehaunt ruins is one of the hardeer writs for its level, if you go at night on accident? you die at lvl 14. unless you are very skilled.
If you dont account for them being shades? you die at lvl 14.
This writ teaches new people, how to handle the shadows and the day/night cycle, it takes a bit of work to get to the first time, and is often paired with the spider cave.

The queen spider fight can be very difficult for people if it has the supporting phase spiders. its a pretty heavy boss.

1k exp for shadehaunt is insanely insulting for the time to get there ,and relative difficulty.

2k exp for the spiders is similar.

both need to be raised considerably for thier level tier. Its going to destroy new people to struggle through these then get what amounts to nothing for it. I even found a dead body and 6500 gold by the shadow mastif when i did it.

I like arelith because of wris. ravenloft/C&D/other PW are grind hell. I dont want to grind a MMO, i want to do writs to get exp and go back to RPing. Doing 3 writs every day on weekends it takes me a few months to passively get to 30 where, you can then actually start to seriously interact with the community.

for new people without a existing lvl 30, this pulls the ladder up and makes them grind the game ever harder to get to the level they need to interact with 90% of the existing playerbase. it guts casual players who just do a writ or two every couple of days.

While I agree with writ xp being nerfed too much, I think there are a couple of serious erronous points in your post. The first that you need to be lvl 30 to interact with the community. You dont. The second is that doing writs, or grinding xp are somehow exlusionary with xp. You can, and ideally should be rping while you do the above mentioned. Re-examining how you view both will help you enjoy the server alot more even with nerfed writ xp. If you think you need to be lvl 30 to seriously engage with the community you will be really frustrated.

It's a single area that takes less than 10 minutes to clear.

1k XP is plenty, though given the lack of drops a greater gold reward might help.

I think you need to try and roleplay with different people if your experience thus far is being locked out of rp for not being 30.

This is a bit flabbergasting to read; I have interacted with factions, out of factions, my own friends, strangers, one-offs who roll after a month, characters who have been around for eight years, and I have never once had my level ever stop me from having any sort of roleplay or experience. No matter if I was level 3, 15, or 30.

I would suggest, if you want to do a writ or two every few days, to take freelancer and turn on adventure mode. That gives you much more xp, and you can burn through it through rp.

Now that i know its a waste of time i wont be doing either writ, thanks for the warning. And yeah, all these writ nerfs do is punish those who don't have 8+ hours a day to play.

It’s not just one area that takes 10 minutes to clear. At this level you don’t have Ley. I had to run from cordor to bendir, get arelith forest ley, then fight through the wolf-head bandits to get to the ruins in the forest, THEN do it.

Do you mean the spider cave that's one screen away from Westcliff?

And the ruins that are directly connected to that spider cave, where the boss is literally in the first pack after you leave the spider cave?

I'm not sure low-effort writs should give particularly substantial rewards.

The spider cave and the shadehaunt ruins are probably two of the easiest writs in the game for the recommended level range. Properly prepared, you can complete both at minimum level with hardly any struggle at all.

If anything, the real crime is that these two trackless seas writ tasks are often a waste of time to even accept, and people playing through for the first time have no way of knowing that they'll end up having taken two writs that give them not all that much until they've embarked on them.

It's very frustrating when you're limited to three writ tasks a day and some of them are just a sheer waste of time to pick up.

Edit:
Tangentially, RP doesn't start at thirty, despite that being the joke. If you ask people for help, they'll give it. Once you get around the 18+ writs, asking people who loiter around in town for help can be a good idea. Your XP per enemy gets tanked, but you get to:
-RP with someone you might not have RP'd with.
-Make connections doing it.
-Get that fat writ reward at the end of it all.

Edit 2 The Revenging:
I need to elaborate on 'waste of time.' Because I actually take both of those writs all the time? I'm still going to take them even with the terrible exp rewards, but it's because I'm perfectly fine taking things slow and just doing things at my own pace. It doesn't bother me, because I've never really enjoyed the rush to 30, and I RP so much that I tend to get to 30 pretty quick anyways.

But. For people who have limited playtime and/or people who are struggling to catch up to others, it can be a real wall. It'd be nice if there were more indicators of the amount of effort you could expect to put in on these writ tasks, is all.

Edit 3:
I just wanted to have a third edit. I'm sorry. There's nothing of value here.
