Currently, animal companion is more or less the only summon still brutally nerfed after the summon change, and they haven't been looked at. I think giving them blind fight from the getgo(or perhaps with awaken?) would be a massive boon, and I sincerely feel Call of the Wild should give them dispel resistance similar to a warlocks summon as it makes little sense that an animal companion is getting banished/dismissed. It would make melee ranger much more appealing!
As it stands, their extremely low will save causes them to get turned/get dismissed/banished/removed by pretty much anything that looks in their direction.
