Add a level 7 spell that lowers spell resistance by 10 in a colossal area of effect, just like Mordenkainen's Disjunction. This shouldn't be able to stack with the spell resistance reduction of Disjunction. Available to classes with Disjunction. Then, remove greater nullification gems from the loot matrix or outright delete them.
Reasoning:
This is to address a gnawing issue I've noticed in PvP.
TL;DR: Greater nullification gems are too rare and inaccessible for an effect critical to countering some PvP matchups. A level 7 spell that lowers SR by an equal amount would make the counter to SR more accessible.
Long, explanatory version:
Currently, the best source of lowering spell resistance is a greater nullification gem (outside of just casting mordie's disjunction or high level Nature's Balance). These require no lore to use and skip the animation of a scroll. They're the most usable option for lowering SR by a meaningful amount in a reasonable amount of time without heavy investments into lore. It's also versatile and applies the effect in an AoE, potentially afflicting multiple targets (like a blackguard and their fiend, caster and their EDK, etc). Dispelling up to 6 breachable wards is a bonus.
This counter to SR cannot be easily replicated. Stacking both spell breach spells results in 8 reduced spell resistance on a single target for twice the action economy. Nature's balance is another option, but the effect is less versatile and reliable due to being tethered to your character. It is also a level 8 spell, so it requires 65 lore for anyone unable to cast it.
Lowering SR is crucial for some matchups in PvP to be able to use or reliably use some spells. For example, 32 SR summons are almost immune to base CL consumable Word of Faith. You remedy this by quickly lowering SR. The incredibly popular Headband of Protection has 26 SR, providing a chance to block some consumable-sourced spells, or outright precluding ones like Balagarn's Iron Horn. Once again, you counter this with something that quickly lowers SR, that being a greater nullification gem.
This dynamic is fine, but where the issue surfaces is from the accessibility of greater nullification gems. They're a very rare spawn in the loot matrix. This scarcity and their necessary function in PvP compounds into an egregious inaccessibility in my opinion. Only the deeply invested will have a reliable quantity of them. It also makes some contests arbitrarily more expensive than others.
The proposed spell would ameliorate the issue. Regular builds already shoot for 50 lore. This would technically be a weaker solution to the problem given the lack of breaching and scroll use animation, but I believe it is fine to lose those qualities.
