Hey there guys.
I've been contemplating, since I've been helping out new players a lot recently, how a few QOL changes would massively impact the first play experience of the server for newer players. This is mostly prompted by a experience I had today where a new player was close to quitting because of how annoying they found it. And they're right, it's overwhelming.
One of the many complaints I've got from people I've helped starting up is that bags, inventory management, and the associated chores of it when you don't own the essential jewelry box, gem pouch, scroll case, herbalism bag, hunting bag and mining bag is a pain in the bum.
This is why I suggest the following:
- Produce a new tier of all the 6 essential bags, "Awful" quality, with no weight reduction and not a large load that can fit in it. Enough for maybe 1 adventure. The "Awful" containers will prompt them to buy better later.
- Provide these to any characters made to players with under 15 hours of playtime. Veteran players can deal with it.
- Configure the auto-loot settings of these players with a recommended setup on character creation so that they automatically feed in.
I recognise there may be some drawbacks to the container market for producers from these. But with the detriment of how overwhelming and expensive it can be in your first 5-10 hours of play to afford all these containers while improving your gear I reckon we lose people, and it's bigger priority to address that. I have infact witnessed it myself.
So making the new player experience easier, and making them not watch their inventory turn into a polluted mess and too much of a headache to deal with would make life better.
