Hello people of Arelith.

To be succinct, I would like to suggest a review of the current Award system. Yes, I am well aware of how it functions and what its purpose is, and that it has its flaws and imperfections. Very particularly, I know that there have been differing opinions on the roulette-y nature of it, but I would like to bring up a point that I believe was made in the past but forgotten about.

For the love of God, allow us to go through an application process to play the races we want to play.

For a personal example, I have only ever received one (1) Greater in my entire time on the server. The age of my forum account is maybe a 1/4 of that. Zero majors, like others. But I, and others, are growing older. There are other games that exist, other hobbies, not to mention work and personal lives. I would like to roleplay a specific character on Arelith, and have wanted to do so for years now, but at the rate of Award cooldowns, I do not think it is likely for me to play it before 2027.

Make Awards a matter of convenience, rather than the only decider on whether someone can play a character they want to. If the application does not fit their actual roleplay, take away their character. But let us who are really, severely, terribly unlucky, have the chance to play the character we want to play.
