I play a character who writes a lot of notes and stores them in notebooks. I noticed today - to my dismay - that a notebook had been full for a little while, but instead of refusing to accept new notes, it had simply been deleting the oldest notes in the notebook. Is this intended behaviour? It would be a pain to have to manually count how many notes I have in a notebook every time I want to put a new one in, lest I accidentally delete an old note. Is there a way to have notebooks act like message boards, with a setting that stops them from overwriting and instead gives you an alert saying the notebook is full? If not, maybe this system could use such a change.

it isnt overwriting them, you're just going over the maximum 35 limit of notes displayed. remove some notes and you will see older ones reappear
i don't think we know how to fix this yet

Just removing the new notes does not work; you need to remove them, put the notebook in a bookshelf, and then they will reappear.

Re: Notebooks auto-overwriting old notes
I've had a problem with notebooks before where if I had gone over the limit, it would begin to eat two at a time.
If the book had 35 and I put another in, it would eat the 35th page and the page I just put in, so there are now only 34 pages in the book. If I put another in, it will eat that page and the 34th page, leaving 33, so on and so on

I remember a functionality on the -factions command on messageboards when using {}. Locking them instead of overwriting old ones.
Maybe it could be extended to the notebook. Some options on the dialogue as you interact with it? Or maybe it worked for messageboards because they are fixtures.
Not a dev, dont know how they actually do things. But if its a long standing problem, they probably already thought of that and it failed.
