Kethra's End

Post by AdreannaDrea »

As many of you now know, Kethra met her end after a dramatic and final accounting. There are far too many to name, because she was my longest played character - but I'll try and note a few who I truly miss and am grateful for. If your name isn't here but you're on my discord, I'm sorry, I just have terrible memory. You're loved.

  • To the Coven - Lucretia, Vestelle, Zerich, Stregabor, Aellfric, Vama and all ancillary characters I won't name just in case they're not outed yet - thank you for the last few months of her play; you were all wonderful, gripping, and I miss you dearly.

  • To the House of Vigilance - Kenneth, Viridovix, Ellianara, Osric, Adimien, Baldur, Zalata, Arthur, Charissa and everyone else; I'm so sad it ended so suddenly with a fracture. I'm truly grateful for all of the time we got to spend together.

  • To Guldorand - Lora, Eshima, Sewell, Nataliya, Atticus, Gabriel Freeman, Raymonde, Mei, Eduard - you were all fantastic.

  • To Siegfried. Words cannot describe how much I was devastated when our characters parted ways, and I'm glad they came back together in the end. I always, always had fun with you, thank you for being Kethra's source of strength and safety for so long.

  • Hunter Belladonna. I swear, you came into Kethra's life like a whirlwind for what, a week? - and left her utterly heartbroken, and it wasn't even a romance thing! I struggle to think of another character she (and I) just -immediately- clicked with, you know?

  • Naradil. You were a fantastic 'nemesis' bestie. I adored the civility with which we had our discourses, despite theoretically being completely opposing foes. Kethra really respected and liked Nara, and that scene in the Lotus the night before her capture will live rent free in my head for a long time. I wish we'd had more time!

  • Freya Montgomery, her first fiancee. Things kind of collapsed after the war, we were all feeling pretty burnt out, and what could've been a sweet and enduring love story fell apart with the horrors that both our characters witnessed. You're a wonderful player, and I miss you.

Thank you, so much, for making Kethra one of my most enjoyable and worthwhile characters so far. She was loved, she was hated, and she was inexplicably infamous. Whether you liked or loathed her - you knew her; and that's been the absolute weirdest insanity of my life in all my 18 years of playing here.

Loved to loathe her! Her story will be felt for some time.

I had a lot of fun with Kethra. Osric tried so hard to keep her on the straight and narrow. It was a wonderful mess from start to finish.

Kethra was amazing and I had a blast with her on all our interactions. Even if their relationship soured at the end, Atticus will never ever forget her.

Kethra and Lin's interactions were brief in the grand scheme of things, so I will let others talk about her as a character. But I just wanted to revisit a point I made about you as a player when it was Lin's time to say goodbye; You took the time to play with him when the general consensus in Cordor was that the character was awful and should just be ignored, and for that you will always be one of my favorite Arelith players. And while I am sure your next character will be way different, I hope you never lose that part of you the player, because its aces.

Kethra's visits for card readings prompted much RP - either from people wanting her to have them, her having them, other people having readings concerning her, or Belisendre being asked about Kethra in general.

She was definitely a PC whose actions caused ripples! Thank you for sharing her with us.

Kethra will forever hold a special place in my heart. She was an absolute joy to play with and there was never a dull moment when we played together. Staying up until 7 A.M. to run through Dis with you-- just because I could never get a decent sleep schedule to align with yours-- was always worth it. I'll treasure the storybook you wrote and all of the RP you created for Siegfried and me, even if trying to keep Kethra alive felt impossible at times (it was)~ Through all the laughter, tears, drama, embarrassing moments, and fun you've brought to myself and many others, you were always making sure that others felt included and that they were having fun as well. You're an RPR 1 million in my heart and I will always be your biggest fan <3
