Arelith's "pool of weapons" as choice is pretty great but I think they have too many categories within it. I think a simple damage type = weapon focus structure, with maybe unarmed and ranged being outliers would be better suited. Seeing a weapon arbitrarily in "two handed" when it could also be a polearm is just an unnecessary amount of steps when it could just be:
Weapon Focus: Bludgeoning
Weapon Focus: Piercing
Weapon Focus: Slashing
Weapon Focus: Unarmed *
Weapon Focused: Ranged
Then you put all of the weapons that count as more than one in each category.
* I also think Weapon Focus: Unarmed as it exists should probably just be combined into improved unarmed strike/brawler/pugilist or whatever. It's kinda weird you can focus in something but in a form that is worse than what it would be.
