Dirge of Awakening UCL on Mundanes

Post by Aog »

Heyo, so with the recent change to dirgesinger(removing the 21 cha req from dirge of awakening granting mummy dust tier undead) allowing melee dirge to be a more viable pick, I've started experimenting with mundane dirgesingers and an unfortunate bug I'm running into is that dirge of awakening will only summon the minimum tier undead even with lasting inspiration and 25+ perform. This exists on other dirgesingers, but typically casting any spell from your spellbook resolves it and the dirge will properly calculate UCL. On a mundane, though, there is no way I can identify to get it to summon the proper tier undead.

feat CL is broken it seems, have seen many reports of related issues and similar ones, all stemming from the same code

we're looking into it but it may be a bit. the CL code is a bit spaghett.

Just poking this since I started to play a Cleric/Dirge, and the UCL is acting up. Level 5 Dirge now and summoning two Vestiges with the ghostly stream.

Yep happens all the time on both of my dirgesingers. Usually casting from my appropriate spellbook alleviates it, but sometimes it doesn't!

Casting from the cleric spellbook has no effect at all. :/

Yeah this bug has been a problem for at least a year if not longer. I'd love to play my dirgesinger again but it's like I only get the one good summon after a reset and then it just brings the weakest possible undead, sometimes a spell will clear it up (that used to be reliable but doesn't seem to be the case any more) and sometimes it doesn't, and if you find out it doesn't after resting out in the wild you don't get to use awakening again for 10 minutes.. I know it's not a priority to anyone and may never be fixed but I gotta add my two cents if I see a thread about it.

Did some bug testing with this.

With Lasting Inspiration and Dirge 10:

  • As first action server reset -> summons Mummy Dust tier undead
  • After drinking a potion, casting from a wand, etc. -> summons low tier undead
  • After casting from spellbook -> summons Mummy Dust tier undead

Every time you drink a potion or cast from a wand, you summon low tier undead again. Every time you cast from a spellbook, you summon Mummy Dust tier undead again.

The build in question is Cleric6/Dirge10/Defender14, so casting from my spellbook demolishes my dispel resistance.
