Arelith has a lot of cool weapons that, unfortunately, have zero utility due to the following bug: race-specific bonuses count as additional properties for the purpose of enchanting, but are not cumulative with the base bonuses.
The recent fixes and updates to the character sheet make me conclude that this is currently not working as intended.
Here’s an example:
• The Dragonslayer (Peridan) Properties:
Enhancement Bonus: +2
Enhancement Bonus vs. Dragon: +6
• What my character sheet shows:
Attack Bonuses: +40/+35/+30/+25
+46/+41/+36/+31 vs. Dragon
• What I actually get vs. Dragon from the logs: +44/+39/+34/+29
Explanation: the character sheet makes it look like the +6 vs. Dragon stacks with the +2 base bonus, giving +46 on the first attack. But in reality, it is just +44, like the +6 replaces +2 instead of adding to it, as in the Vanilla NWN.
• What I should probably get:
I think now the race-specific bonuses should stack with the base enhancement bonus, as the character sheet shows.
Reasoning: the race-specific weapons lack many damage and other properties, sometimes six or even more if compared to the end-game craftable weapons, for what now, even in the best case, is a just tiny bonus of +1-2 AB, so they should likely be a lot better against that particular race. Right now, they are not, and it makes them pretty much non-viable compared to what everyone else uses.
I understand that the Dragonslayer has other properties that help to avoid using Mind Blank, but most if not all other race-specific weapons do not have anything else going for them at all, and this hits them all much harder.
So, please fix this so that the race-specific weapons gain their intended use cases and match the character sheet.
