Command for NPCs to -Guard Someone

Post by The Christmas Angel »

There is currently an option for a summon to automatically guard you when it is summoned. This is great! Having a summon guard you, can really make a huge difference. If it is lost, you summon another, and start again.

However, it is not possible to tell your summon, or any NPC follower (Like a Henchman you recruit or hire for example) to mechanically guard you, or anyone else.

Another issue is with spells like Planar Conduit. Only one of the summons will actually -guard you, mechanically. Using the Radial or Voice Commands does not do anything mechanical, it only changes their combat behavior. Since Planar Conduit summons two creatures, if the one guarding you is defeated, you have now lost your guard.

So, I was inspired by the Toolbar System in Arelith and its menu with this idea. The -tb command has the capability of performing many clicks in one function. For example, say you want to assign a spell from a weapon to a toolbar. You first have to click the Command > The Slot > The Item > The Spell. It's pretty ingenious, and I love using it! I was thinking something similar could also be done for NPCs under your command and Arelith's -guard mechanic, so that it is not only limited to summons, nor is it only limited to guarding yourself.

It could look like:

-guardcommand > Select any NPC under your command > Select whom to guard [Yourself, another PC, another NPC]

And that's it!

That way you have complete control over who your summons or henchmen are guarding, and you can simply do it again to cancel the guard.

Let me know what you think, and thank you!
