The Raynes

Post by D4wN »

I just wanted to give a kudos to Albet and Abigail Rayne. For years now they have been the face of Cordor welcoming new characters and new players alike to Arelith/Cordor. Helping people with directions, pointing them to factions to join and also hosting many events.

Having a character now focused on hosting events, I know just how exhausting each and every one of them is. And I admire you for all you do, for the energy and dedication you spare on this and the great experiences you give new players. You're heroes.

Currently playing:
Eduard Helbrecht - Active

Thomas Castemont - Shelved

Liv McDowall - Rolled
Theodor Helbrecht - Rolled
Emma Young - Rolled
Ember Joyleaf-Underfoot - Rolled

I try to make sure to donate when I can on my character, because both him and I know that with the Raynes, it'll be going to furthering their good cause and work making Cordor a better and more welcoming community as a whole.

You can easily tell how important someone's character is to an area when they are NOT there. When the Rayne's take a night off, everyone asks, "Where are Abigail and Albet?"

Kudos to you both for being the face of Cordor.

They're fantastic and have done so much for the city (and playerbase) - thank you.

Not to mention the amount of teaching they’re willing to do in and out of the game! I’ve learned to host my own flair of events in the last year, and every step along the way I’ve had TheNerdyBirdie and the Raynes helping me hit that sweet spot of well prepped and thought out, but with enough wiggle room to get creative and allow for improv in the moment. There are a few things with event running, like how you write up your invites that are so very useful no matter what event you’re running.

One of the best things they and Birdie taught me is that you shouldn’t stress the small things or the characters that aren’t playing well with your RP hooks all the time-just get out there and host content, and most importantly, RP!

your ticket to the future is always open

Hello, We appreciate all of your wonderful comments! Of the two rascals named, I play Albet.

My fuel for keeping our charity service and other projects alive all this time has been the kindness others have long given us. The first time that I played Arelith was around five years ago, though I only played a couple of rather bad characters that did not pass level 10. I made Albet a bit over two years ago. When I did, I had absolutely no idea of Realmslore, Dungeons and Dragons or Neverwinter Nights. I have found a lot more success that can mostly be attributed to those that have helped me along the way.

I try to avoid naming individuals because I would feel awful if I left someone out. Many people have been patient and willing to help teach Albet, and by extension, me. From her time within the Heartwood, the Radiant Heart Chapter Knights (now the Order of Ascension), the Flaming Lotus (which she has since taken ownership of, becoming the Hopeful Lotus), to her time within the Chancellor’s Office and beyond. I have met many brilliant people within and outside of those groups.

My favorite interactions have always been those where you can tell someone is excited to explore something new. Across my characters, I have enjoyed writing guides, giving informative trips or to host lectures because I like helping others to learn through their characters as I did. Likewise, I enjoy helping people build up their ideas for events or otherwise because they start to get hyped up. Many people play this game because they want some good escapism after their daily stresses, and I enjoy helping to make Arelith a good experience for everyone.
