Reduce Endless Battlefield Spawns

As cool as this is, you have this area on Surface. This server starts lagging at only 50-60 people and is easily the most popular server due to how large it is. The Endless Battlefield creates a massive spawn of Undead as soon as you cross the bridge towards Manfried's Mansion. This large spawn, if not killed quickly enough, WILL cause crashes. This, most of the time, leads to the death of whoever was fighting them.

Please reduce how many get spawned in. You don't need up to 5 Necromages casting AOE spells and summoning in MORE undead, five collosals, 20 of the infantrymen and 10ish of the archers.

Add more infantry!
Maybe some skeleton horsemen too!

Always liked the huge numbers makes the fight challenging, rather than a cakewalk.

More spawn! It's an army after all. I love going there and just spamming U2D. If anything make the colossi undead instead of constructs!

To the OP, maybe don't go there alone, or hope you go with friends who will save you? Also, being aware of the IRL time and server time is important. I love this area and don't want to see it made easier. If anything I want more like it. I love giant engaging fights that feel like accomplishments, and this is one of them. The team does great work doing that.

Endless battlefield is a classic fight that makes you actually need to think to survive sometimes. I would be crushed, personally, to see it nerfed. Not a ton of places have that much of a random danger factor.

Besides, the spawns are already minimal during the day, for those who worry.

I've crashed to many things in Arelith. 200 mobs in the battlefield is not one of them. Language lessons however - definitely top in the list.

Do not reduce spawns in the battlefield - actually, increase them. That screen is an epic dopamine mine.

Sorry for joining the dog pile. But yes, please give that place more spawns. Its one of the few places that I enjoy revisiting despite reaching epics. The place is reminiscent of the old infinite spawn in Baator.

  • Change writ level to 30+
  • Maybe have a specific time of the night that allows infinite spawns.

There are other ways to reach Minmir Manor - a bit of a maze but additions of climb checks could maybe make the path shorter.

I believe this was the reason for the question, not the massive amount of spawns.

Can anyone confirm that this is true that it causes crashes? And in case it is true, can it be fixed without lowering the spawns?

Never seen it crash the server, seen it having massive lag due to some pc event where there are 20+ pc's on one map.
Now it's possible it may cause players to crash out as there system can't handle the graphic's load but thats a player's computer issue not a server one.

It causes crashes player-side, not server-side. The server will be fine, but it will cause the player's game to crash to desktop.
I have a more than competant PC, it is most definitely not a fault on my end, just this old game not being able to handle the crazy amount of things spawning and the hundreds of different commands, prompts and dice rolls all happening at once.

Thanks for posting this, as it reminds me that it exists and I should go there to stomp undead for fun sometime in the future.

Keep it as it is please, or even consider upping the spawns. Love the “dawn of the dead” feel of it.
