Eliminate random spawn script on Temple of Silvanus/Myon

We will file suggestions here that did not make the cut. Don't expect detailed responses, but the most common reasons are:

  • implementing the suggestion is impractical, or too much work for the gain
  • the suggestion is thematically against our design philosophy
  • the suggestion is too detailed/low-level
Keep your suggestions broad and focused on RP benefits, please, not detailed suggestions of how to fix everything.

Eliminate random spawn script on Temple of Silvanus/Myon

Post by Green2Bee »

Since the "don't talk to the portal" was rejected, another suggestion! Relentless, I know! :D

Is it possible to disable the random spawn script (Or at the very least, the hostile random script part) on that map? Myon is already a hell to get to for a low level and the orc that killed me wasn't dragged there, it's the random script orc with +2 Longbow and acid arrow with multiple attacks per round. This thing can shoot you even when you can't even really see it.

Some elves don't want anything to do with cities and towns. I don't think it's unreasonable to have that map not be a death zone just out of transition, just like a guard was put in for Crow's Nest. That map has a lot of guard-like characters depending on time of the day, but none way back by the portal.

I am reasonably sure that there are normally no spawns in that area... but that they can spread there from other areas if not kept in check.

So what you have is an IC problem; the Elves need to keep their gateway clear.
