Crafting Multiple's

We will file suggestions here that did not make the cut. Don't expect detailed responses, but the most common reasons are:

  • implementing the suggestion is impractical, or too much work for the gain
  • the suggestion is thematically against our design philosophy
  • the suggestion is too detailed/low-level
Keep your suggestions broad and focused on RP benefits, please, not detailed suggestions of how to fix everything.

Crafting Multiple's

Post by DaTexican »

So I know there are threads concerning different crafts such as Cooking. I believe it was concerning changing potions into stacks of 10 rather than 1 at at time and the like. Well I just through of a Idea that would benefit all crats while solving this request.

What if a "Craft X amount" was added to the module. Add it as a option when you choose to craft a item, something along the lines of: "Type number of this item you wish to craft, then click this" and it would do the following.

1) Craft one of the item
2) Use the "Use required number of crafting points" Option to complete the item, avoiding any nat one fails and a (i believe simple) check/else(not sure what the module is written in) statement could check if you have the required amount of points needed to complete it and if not, ends the loop, fixing problem of crafting thins in this way without enough points.
3) repeat steps 1 and 2 until either you run out of points and step 2 stops the cycle, or you craft the desired # of the item.

This would allow for less tedious click and wait of small items that require 1 or 2 skill points to make, and would make crafting a bit less painstaking to do for the players, as it takes alot of time.

*foreseeable problems:*
1) looping like that could cause lagg? (again don't know what the module is written in)
2) Crash's cause loss of materials/items in the crafting module? (would be solved with proper testing im sure)
3) Although it seems simple in concept, this could be alot of work? I don't think it would be but again, depending on the language, this could be a pain :/

What you think Devs? Something worth doing/possible?
