PRISONER COLLAR & SLAVE COLLAR

We will file suggestions here that did not make the cut. Don't expect detailed responses, but the most common reasons are:

  • implementing the suggestion is impractical, or too much work for the gain
  • the suggestion is thematically against our design philosophy
  • the suggestion is too detailed/low-level
Keep your suggestions broad and focused on RP benefits, please, not detailed suggestions of how to fix everything.

PRISONER COLLAR & SLAVE COLLAR

Post by Ork »

The slave system has been in for awhile now with a lot of success, but I think a major oversight I see a lot in the system is how easily it is for someone to really screw themselves up and take a slave collar as opposed to a prisoner collar.

My thought: the slavemasters give collars in separate conversations. The first time you talk to a slavemaster, he will only allow you to get a prisoner collar. This allows people to avoid misclicking and learn about the differences between both before pulling the trigger. The second time a prisoner talks to the slavemaster, he gets a new option to give him a slave collar.

This will alleviate some of the struggle in choosing between the two, and hopefully clarify to players that all hope is not lost when they are pressganged into taking a collar.

The majority of slaves not chosen at creation tend to disappear because of the utter bleakness the system represents. I would love for there to be a thousand options to get out of a prisoner collar, and only those that actively wish to play as a slave should have access to the slave collar.

I honestly am resistant on taking slaves at the moment or participating in that sort of RP because the times that I have, they had accidentally selected slave over prisoner and doomed themselves to the helpless struggle of freedom from it.
