Resource system slight overhaul?

Post by EternalSunrise »

Just a random thought that came up today when discussing settlements and the resource systems, and the lack of point to it - could we have the things that we sell to the trade minister buy-backable?

Like, for example, rather than generating just an item that represents a million units of cloth, or whatever, have a dialogue open that allows you to choose a particular piece of cloth/stone/hide/whatever for whatever price the settlement offers it at.

Say you're a tailor, and you 'really' need 25 large hides. I don't know why, but you do.
You now have the choice of potentially buying them from the settlement at a cost - the money for which goes into the city coffers, naturally.

Or you're a smith, and you need x amount of iron ingots.

I propose we have a slight system of it keeping track of what is actually sold, so that you can't just buy a million adamantine ingots. Or just keep it to the lesser metals/things.
