Septire

Post by Yorick Shadowfeather »

I've been a quiet fan of Septire for some time, With all his help on server stuff/balancing and whatever else... and now with rp. It was also good to meet an old character again- especially one that played with one of my favorite characters of all time.

But what impressed me most wasn't the Rp specifically (which was still good :P)- But it was the way he pvp'd. There's a serious lack of the type of pvp (and ever decreasing) that he's proven to be part of, And we could use many more like him. Even if they have cheesy builds. ;)

In all- if was a great change from the regular scrub pvp, where both parties mindlessly swing weapons/spells trying to get a kill "for glory"; Trying to prove they have the superior character simply because they can crush any other build.

Septire is amazing. Starting from Salindra and now Dartak, perfect.

Septire's tiefling, Xei'zex, was one of the first characters I ever roleplayed with when I started on Arelith. One of those who impressed me enough to keep playing here later on.

When I returned to Regulith many years later, I first thought Salindra was a new great player I discovered! Finding out it was Septire all along was a bittersweet revelation. It wasn't a new player, but it was confirmation that my past impression wasn't only the result of a newbie's inexperience.

Most importantly, Septire was the first time I realised that players shouldn't rely on the IC or OOC opinion of their character's faction, or their OOC friend circle.
Give others a chance, and they might end up amazing you.

I'm curious, and didn't fully understand - what was special about this PvP? How did it develop?

The Bug Forum - I mean, Septire was a nice find.
Back when we were still losing our mind to stumble with the RDD NPC, he came down from high heavens to point us in the right direction.

And we ended up talking. And talking. And talking.

For somebody in the team, this is essential. It's people turbulent and energetic like him that keep things going and moving. That are always pushing the game forward like Chris punches boulders.

You know, for all we talk, we should actually play just as much :3

Don't click weird links, kiddos.

With Dartak, I had one of the very few PvP encounters I actually enjoyed.

Just found this! Sorry!

*kobold secret sign*

Funny story want to share with everyone. Back when the RDD for Kobolds update came out and me and Iceborn was bothering the entire UD trying to find it. Septire stepped in set two goofballs onto the right track. But! That isn't what's funny. What's funny is Tonky became the first RDD Kobold from the NPC and he screwed up its name for like the first month afterwords! God, that must have drove Septire nuts. Yet he let it go! So I am sorry buddy! And thanks!

Also, Salindra and Toad had a lot of RP together. She was always what I pictured an assassin should be. When we would RP I never truly knew if she was going to kill him in the next breath or not. That's what made it a lot of fun. So, Great RP'er! Great scripter and whatever else you do in the back ground!
Thank you!
