Weaker Gifts: brainstorming

We will file suggestions here that did not make the cut. Don't expect detailed responses, but the most common reasons are:

  • implementing the suggestion is impractical, or too much work for the gain
  • the suggestion is thematically against our design philosophy
  • the suggestion is too detailed/low-level
    Keep your suggestions broad and focused on RP benefits, please, not detailed suggestions of how to fix everything.

Weaker Gifts: brainstorming

Some gifts offer little to no benefit past initial levels. This post will make suggestions to act as some brainstorm in order to create ideas to rethink them:

1) Gift of Hardiness:
Reason: 5/- elemental resist is futile later, as it don't stack with wards or Essences (on item property to resist elements).
Proposal: makes the value scale with level:
Lvl 1~14 = 5/-
Lvl 15~28 = 10/-
Lvl 29~30 = 15/-


2) Gift of Darkness and Invisibility 1/day and:
Reason: Darkness 1/day, with a pre-set low Caster Level.
Proposal: Make the caster level be equal the Character Level, or give it more uses per day based on level (or a cooldown). Make it work on Kensais too?


3) Gift of Light:
Reason: Light 1/day. Same problem as above.
Proposal: Could upgrade to Continual Light. Make it work on Kensais too?


4) Gift of Wealth:
Reason: 1000 coins really help early, but as you get closer to the teens, a single adventure will grant way more gold in way shorter time.
Proposal: Make it give 1000+100xLevel coin.


5) New: Gift of Nightvision
Proposal: Gives the character Low-Light and Darkvision OR Ultravision (once per day with scalling CL or with a internal cooldown). Make it work on Kensais too?
