I wish Anna's player could have seen the gusto we put into the funeral. So many attendees, so many people coming to say goodbye when we couldn't resurrect her.

this was very fun indeed, Shanna often performs funeral services for dead adventurers she finds in her travels, unless they are elves, which she carries to Myon, or Dwarves which she carries to Brog.
I would say that it might be quite dangerous to perform such a large heartfelt service if one isnt one hundred percent sure of there permanent passing, since you may invoke that they are taken to the afterlife prematurely!
