arcane tower FPS
there are way too many vfx in the arcane tower as part of the decoration and it utterly tanks the frame rate in that area. i noticed it seems to be better if you log out, then log back into the tower.
at times the FPS drop is absolutely unplayable until a relog is done. maybe some of the VFX could be removed so it's not so taxing?

Re: arcane tower FPS
Benwick and the Last Bastion have the same problem, with all the wiggly tentacles. Really tanks FPS.. and the fog/mists in the Shadow Plane seem to do the same thing.

The fog clouds are perhaps some of the worst culprits of them all, but I'll give a +1 for areas that are heavily traffic'd like the tower. Tuning down the vfx if not removing them in their entirety would be for the best imo.
Re: arcane tower FPS
Pretty weird because I thought that's what happened. For a while there the tower was cleaned up of all that mess and it was running so beautifully.
Now all the things are back.

I’ve been testing the results of No VFX and reducing only some VFX over time.
I removed the fog from the Tower which improved FPS. Removing all VFX helped too. I can always go back to a more plain state.

I thought it looked better, too. Being in the Tower too long with so many bright/flashy lights really gave me a headache, at times.Hazard wrote: Sun Mar 03, 2019 7:32 pm Pretty weird because I thought that's what happened. Please change it back!!! It was so much better (aesthetically, system-y, etc.-y) in the "lo fi" version that it was for a brief amount of time.
Re: arcane tower FPS
Will back that one off too, I found it way more pleasant, both for eyes and FPS, when you cleaned it !
Re: arcane tower FPS
bit of necromancy at the ol arcane tower
but could we seriously talk about reducing some of the VFX in there? Apex, Birdcage, and Foyer can really make even dedicated PCs chug due to BEAMDOG related memory leaks.
(It's also something that happens in the Shadow Plane.)

Re: arcane tower FPS
I have a pretty serious beast of a rig that I use for competitive Overwatch and Elite Dangerous at max settings with 100+ fps.
3.8 ghz 8-core threadripper, GTX 1060 GPU, 16 gigs of ram.
Arcane Tower still gives me sub-30 frames.
