As for switching servers we have ideas to make sure your current effects carries over and are reapplied (with the right duration), same with spellbooks.

or, at least, put it back to how it was until you figure out the next stage of it, which is honestly just peak arelith.

Because cities and planes and surface are interchangeable in so many places, quite a few of them not all that far from a server transition and a spawn loop, this would result in players going these places automatically getting a spell refresh every time. This is in the best case, unintentional scenario, and could just as easily devolve further into people running cross-server xp-grinds with casters who never have to worry about resting again, or people logging out before they die and waiting for a server reset to log back in with fresh spells/abilities etc.
I understand the sentiment behind wanting it changed, but I've seen these things done on servers that don't maintain your state between resets, in much smaller player populations, and I think the opportunity to do it on server transfer is a much more frequent opportunity than the reset button. I think it's a really bad idea -in execution, not conceptually- that will introduce a whole host of new complications to the already fraught path of PvP.

I'm simply not sure how this is at all fair considering every other class in the game can perform their tasks with out the necessity of summons.

Considering we've had a decade+ of this not ruining the game I'd strongly prefer it put back to the way it was.

The one change I might like to see is if DMs would be more agreeable to porting you out of a difficult dungeon when they call a reset and you know you can't rest and will likely die when you come back. It's one thing if you log out when below, that's on you, but a reset is something that's out of a player's control.

I don't think server transitions were envisioned in the original game, nor was it envisioned that the game would be handed to a third company to update fifteen years into the future, causing a host of compatibility issues and frequent crashes. I am with the masses that plead please reenable the QoL update, at least until you get this spell effect copy idea worked out.
In addition, since the latest build, I am getting frequent bad handshakes when processing said server transitions and the all new-to-me botched cryptographic fails. Whatever system you come up with hopefully take in mind these drops? Till then, please please err on the side of QoL.

As far as I know, there's no way to get usable spellslots from spells, anyway?
