Well Rested status
A possibility to have little boots to mundanes:
What do you think about adding a Well Rested status, (REST > 90%, Hunger > 50%, Thirst >50%),
The status could add small soft bonuses potentially to:
- AB/AC
- Saves
- Skill checks
- Abilities?
It should be much easier to upkeep such status on mundanes who do not need to balance below 50% to refresh spells out in the wild.

No thank you. Even for a mundane keeping rest above 90% is very difficult.

Re: Well Rested status
It seems a little overly powerful, but I do like the idea of adding benefits to those who keep their meters over 50% (as opposed to 90%),
The benefits should be minor, such as increased carry weight (I imagine with haks and scripts this might be possible), increased piety gain, slightly increased language learning speed (would encourage lessons in taverns, thus creating more RP), slightly increased movement speed, and that sort of thing.
These above mentioned are just examples of something that isn't too game breaking.

That would be horrible for casters. I try to keep my rest in between -10 and 10 in case I need to suddenly rest a lot for spell refreshing.

Re: Well Rested status
It's not a buff for casters. And in my humble opinion if anything, casters below 0% rest should receive a spell failure (for example, being on -7% rest would give your 7% spell failure) for the same reason spell components and piety costs were implemented to begin with and casters are still broken.Party in the forest at midnight wrote: Sun Dec 22, 2019 5:22 am That would be horrible for casters. But without further hijacking this thread,
All characters should get some small physical body related bonuses for being well rested, hydrated and fed.
Perhaps something like +1 to saves and +3 discipline and concentration if the character is over 70% in all three statuses (needs a 'social' screen to get 70%+ Rest it so you dont get to stay THAT wake for long adventures) so it isnt a huge game changer but can still make a difference.

1: Casters benefit from this buff just as much as melees do, and have no reason to not grab the rested buff if they know something big is going to go down. It's just inconvenient for them because the module design forces them to be at low rest if they want to do anything in PvE content at all.AstralUniverse wrote: Sun Dec 22, 2019 1:54 pmIt's not a buff for casters. 2: This would be incredibly easy to cheese with coffee
3: This doesn't seem very fun to micromanage for mundanes or casters (even presuming you can somehow remove the coffee interaction), you'll just be in a permanent state of being unable to rest at will unless you go to an inn because to not do so is to lose a significant buff.

I like increased carrying capacity and increased language learning. Small enough not to be a straight nerf to anyone not well rested and useful enough to make it a point for characters to do.

Re: Well Rested status
Don't see why this should exist on a roleplaying server.
For the most part the rest meter is there to ensure you can't rest as many times as you like, adding any sort of benefit for having your already trivial hunger/thirst/rest bar high will just result into it being a 'must do' thing. I don't think anyone will have fun roleplaying a desire to eat drink and sleep every 6-12 minutes.

I'm not against a Boon for having high food/drink, Rather than it simply being There, and getting in the way of RP
However, As pointed out above, it would need some serious consideration for casters, and the tick system as a whole.
I play as a caster mainly myself, And like most (who are not utter IC alcoholics to just rest to refresh spells) I keep my rest between -10 and 10% constantly.
If Quarters and Housing had more [Rest] tags, Or even if setting down a Tent or Bedroll, Maybe a Campfire, Could let you rest above 50% in the wilderness/dungeons, It would be more feasible.
A "Well fed" Buff, I could see granting, I dunno, +1 to Fortitude
A "Hydrated" Buff could give something similar, +1 to Will
A "Well rested" Buff I would see as giving +1 Reflex
Not Insane bonuses, but good enough to count, I would say above 50% in the catagories is not too hard to manage, But Rest is the biggest one.
