If the devs take pity on you, what luck! But usually they don't restore possessions lost to crashes or lag.
Going forward, I recommend you always type -save after getting a valuable/rare item, and after getting a big sum of gold, including from the bank.
I have lost so many things to crashes that I am frantically typing in -save every few minutes purely out of habit now. But it's a good habit as it will save you from some really frustrating situations.
