Re: Potions of True Strike
I'll be honest, I gave this some thought, and I came to the conclusion that running around in pvp would become more dominate not less without true strikes. I get the point about "see me drink a potion run away until it wears off", and yeah, that's always going to be a thing. Hell, it was a thing when cot was king of the melee ab too, see me divine wrath run away until it wears off. I just don't get how the removal of true strikes (or even making them alchoholic) changes anything save making it harder for the guy usually doing the chasing- the damage dealing strength melee guy- to stop you from running away.
I'm certainly open to being proven wrong here, but it's going to take a clear description of how this would change pvp for the better to convince me.

Then e-dodge/parry eats it.God_In_Action wrote: Mon Jan 02, 2023 9:32 am What if TS potions added the AB bonus only to the next attack roll, rather than a time based bonus.
I think sobriety is the best idea so far and adds layers to pvp without upsetting the meta at all.

Re: Potions of True Strike
What if True Strike ignored Epic Dodge and Parry, but was given a 1 minute cooldown timer?
Re: Potions of True Strike
Another idea (could be poor, not sure), but an attack that forced the opponent out of Expertise and locked them out of activating it again for X rounds?
Re: Potions of True Strike
Could be an interesting yomi layer there if the attacker (when the target isn't in expertise) gets a penalty for guessing wrong, like disarming themselves for trying this maneuver.Quidix wrote: Tue Jan 03, 2023 9:56 am Another idea (could be poor, not sure), but an attack that forced the opponent out of Expertise and locked them out of activating it again for X rounds?
The combat log sort of spoils that counterplay, however. Maybe if expertise wasn't in the combat logs.
